What if death is not an ending, but a change of form?

This is the season when the veils grow thin and we stand closer to the mystery. Across Mexico, families build altars overflowing with flowers to honor their dead. Petals are scattered in a path to the altar so the spirits can find their way home by the fragrance. Favorite beverages are set out. Candles are lit. The dead are celebrated with fragrance, food, and joy.

These traditions teach us that our ancestors are nourished by our memories and our offerings. Our grief can be accompanied rather than carried alone. Death is a motion of the form.

In this gathering, María Cacho, Mexican ritualist, herbalist, and mother, shares the living wisdom of these powerful days. Together we honor the loved ones who shaped us, both natural and human, the ones whose names we carry and the ones we never knew. Life as a cyclical dance. Death as an advisor. The wheel of life as a map.

María will guide us on a somatic journey inward, through the body as earth and the memory of the waters that inhabit us. We begin by settling into the safety of our own bones. Then, following the path of the caterpillar into the monarch, we listen for the whispers of our beloved ancestral memory and receive whatever message is waiting in the inner world.
