You are invited to the refuge of
We welcome those who yearn to turn toward their grief in this community journey.
Grief isn't an illness or mistake,
It is a natural and sacred response to life’s inevitable losses.
It is also a crucible for transformation.
Society conditions us to swiftly escape painful feelings, depriving us of what our souls know: there is holiness in heartbreak, beauty in the wounds, metamorphosis unfolds through cocoon-like dissolution.
You don’t need to make this grief journey alone.
A circle of like-minded companions, in the hands of wise and loving guides, awaits you here.
"What a satisfying relief to know that the jagged, overwhelming reactions to terrible losses are perfectly normal.”
-Margy G., Holy Lament member
Your Loss Counts
Please don’t discount your grief.
Whether you’ve lost the love of your life or been fired from a job that defined you, your loss counts.
Not only that, but your grief is a holy portal, and we are here to step through with you into a state of more radical aliveness.
We tenderly extend this invitation to people experiencing all forms of loss:
Death of a loved one
Change of health
Loss of a job
Significant life change
Grief for the world and our planet
Any other version of the human condition that shatters your previous reality
Have you faced a profound loss that changes your very being?
Do you feel drawn to embrace your heartbreak, instead of avoiding or fixing it?
Do you long for a dedicated space to mourn consciously?
Would it provide comfort to know that while grief is unique, there are dependable universal elements in the landscape of loss?
We welcome you.
12 Thresholds through the Landscape of Loss
Together we will explore 12 features in the landscape of loss that, when approached mindfully and heartfully, can become portals of transformation.
Each month our community focuses on a threshold on the grief journey, such as “Solitude” or “Fearlessness.”
During the month, Holy Lament members receive:
-Monthly live calls with small groups, writing practice related to the month's threshold and live Q&A with Mirabai
-An email with Mirabai's reflections on that aspect of the grief journey
-Weekly videos with Mirabai's musings on the threshold
-Conversations with many renowned speakers on grief related to the theme of the month
-Community connection with like minded companions to reflect and share
What's included in Holy Lament
Join our interactive live monthly calls with Mirabai on the last Wednesday of each month at 11 am PT exploring grief, longing, and mysticism. Sessions are recorded, and you can submit questions in advance.
A new video will be available each week catered to the month's threshold with an explanation of each threshold, supporting practices, songs and conversations with renowned guests.
Each month, Mirabai will email you her poetic reflections for that threshold plus a writing prompt for the month's threshold.
Willow, Monika Denise, and friends will be actively engaged with you in a dedicated online community group. They will provide guidance, companionship, and valuable support tailored to enhance and enrich your Holy Lament journey.

members have to say...
“My intent upon joining was to examine my life’s losses and properly grieve them. That goal has been met tenfold. What a satisfying relief to know that the jagged, overwhelming reactions to terrible losses are perfectly normal.”
-Margy G., Holy Lament member
"Our collective has shifted the ritual of life into the routine of existence, and it is heartbreaking that there is such an absence of group ceremony where we feel held by our community and we feel we belong. Holy Lament provides this space to grievers. A space filled with the healing feminine face of the holy. It is so needed and such a balm."
-Sarah P., Holy Lament member
“Time with Mirabai and Willow is time outside of time - a value all its own. Time with others willing to open their stories in collected writings is amazing. It allows sharing without “too much” while we process our own grief and amplify understanding.”
-Mary Louise M., Holy Lament member
"Hearing Mirabai’s deep wisdom is more than being supported or accompanied, it is also experiencing moments of clarity when you suddenly shift to another perspective. Grief can be threaded with grace, I learned from Mirabai’s teachings. My burden of grief lightened when she reframed the stages of grief as stations. And then, Willow's gorgeous melodies that point to the heart of the Divine comforted and lifted me up."
-Wendy Brown-Baez, author of Heart on the Page and Ceremonies of the Spirit
