Welcome to
Writing Across the Veil
with Mirabai Starr
Welcome, friends, welcome.
We gather Oct 20-22
We are so glad you have followed the trail of marigolds and made your way to this gathering.
During our time together, we will offer special prompts to help you call in the presence of the ancestors, both of your genetic line and your spiritual lineages. A fixed belief system about the afterlife is not required here. In fact, it is not even recommended. Instead, we invite you to warm up your sacred imagination as you set your hand to writing.
Your preparation items are below.
We look forward to gathering with you
Oct 20-22
Mark your calendar for:
Friday Oct 20th 5-7pm Pacific
Saturday Oct 21st 8-11am Pacific
Sunday Oct 22nd 8-11am Pacific
All sessions recorded
"Call out to the ones who are no longer alive and feel the vitality flowing back into the places inside you that may have withered in the fire of loss. Let this weekend writing experience be a space of refuge and renewal."
- Mirabai Starr
How to prepare to get the most out of our time together...

To prepare for Writing Across the Veil
Create your Sacred Writing Space
We encourage you to gather a few items as we launch this journey:
1. Your writing materials
This can be a special journal or a document on your computer
2. Sacred objects to honor and remember the ancestors
Bring a candle, photographs of loved ones who have passed, and other objects like a bowl of earth and glass of water, a vase of flowers, and unique things that remind you of them.
This will be your “Writing Across the Veil” altar.
3. Remember to pace yourself and nurture yourself as you go.
Even though each session is relatively short, it can be an intense process. Drink water, get up and stretch, and be kind to yourself in the times in between.
4. Consider letting friends and family know that you will be taking a deep soul dive this weekend and that it might stir up some feelings, including grief. That way they can be supportive if you need it.
5. Know that you are about to connect with a circle of companions who will be accompanying you on this sacred adventure, probably beyond the boundaries of these three days.
Take refuge in community.
Let your words be bells to welcome the wisdom of those who have died. Be willing to be surprised by what they might reveal through you.
The Weekend Flow
Knocking on the Ancestor's Door
Friday Oct 20th 5-7pm Pacific
The veils are thin, the gates are cracked and there's an opening.
We are knocking with all our hearts.
Join us in an opening ceremony to honor loved ones who have died with guided meditation, writing practice and community sharing.
Connecting with the Ancestors of our Genetic Heritage
Saturday Oct 21st 8-11am Pacific
There are people in our family tree that we have never known but who carry specific wisdom that can guide us now.
As soon as someone in our family dies, they automatically take the shape of an ancestor who cares about our spiritual flourishing.
In this session we will access their particular gifts meant for us.
Join us for contemplative reading, guided writing, community sharing and live Q&R.
Connecting with the ancestors of our Spiritual Lineages
Sunday Oct 22nd 8-11am Pacific
If you could sit at the feet of an unconditionally loving wisdom keeper, what would your heart most long to say or hear?
In this session we will use our sacred imagination to harvest the wisdom of the spiritual lineages we most resonate with.
Join us for contemplative reading, guided writing, community sharing and live Q&R.
All sessions will take place on zoom and you will have lifetime access to recordings.
